HISTORY OF THE BRAND.

ORIGINAL PENGUIN all started when ambitious Munsingwear undergarment salesman, Abbot Pederson took a sales trip to NYC in 1955. Finding himself with time to kill before his flight home, Abbot Pederson stopped off at a local bar. On leaving the bar to find a taxi stand, he took the wrong turn and found himself looking at stuffed Penguins in a taxidermists window. Purchasing one of the penguins and naming him Pete, he took it aboard his flight. Knocking the head off, a flight attendant came to the rescue by using her tie to secure the head back in place and thus the iconic Pete the Penguin was born. Embroidered initially onto a golfing shirt, the classic embroidered penguin has since become an icon, synonymous with one of the worlds most famous fashion brands, ORIGINAL PENGUIN by MUNSINGWEAR.
