From 'The Archive Collection' - Dr Martens have delved into their vast archive to bring back some of their original Heritage designs... Retro classics for the contemporary Indie era! The monkey boot - a Mod favourite - started out as standard issue attire for the Czechoslovakian Army during the WWII. They were perfect for the job with their durable construction and slender silhouette. They were unlike any other boots around at this time in the 1940's. When Dr Martens first started to manufacture the boots for the fashion arena they were specifically for children, made from let-over leather which was from a local factory that had just closed down. The same durable, slimline Retro style has been re-made for this new collection - 'Church' by Dr Martens.

Dr Martens 'Church' Mens Mod Monkey Boots in Vintage Oxblood Cherry smooth leather. A more traditional biscuit-backed leather has been used for this style, decorated with oval contrast Retro stitching to the sole of the boots. The leather is smooth with subtle graining effect which gives them a vintage feel that perfectly compliments the vivid yellow stitch details and opaque sole unit. The laces are exact copies of the originals, flat in shape and made from cotton. They may be from 'The Archive Collection' but Dr Martens still ensure the boots have the comfortable air cushioned sole, or 'Airwair' to use it's common and iconic name. The sole is also oil and fat-resistant, good for slip resistance. A brilliant re-make of the original Mod Revival style Monkey Boot, 'Church' by Dr Martens is a classic Retro 70s original style.

Care: Clean Away dirt using a damp cloth, allow to dry apply a clear wax based shoe polish to restore shine as desired. In the event of heavy scuffing or loss of colour then clean as before but add a matching coloured wax based shoe polish and buff up the leather with brush and cloth as required.
