Classic Tootal Scarves - The Essential Mod Scarf

There are few genuine Mod Clothing brands with real Mod Class and History, but Tootal is one of them. A classic British heritage brand, which played an important role in Sixties and Seventies Mod Fashion.

Tootal was registered in the UK in 1799, and found its historical British home in The Tootal Building in Manchester's Oxford Street almost exactly a century later in 1898. The building had been specially built to house Tootal and was its UK base for many years.

Although it could be argued that Tootal is equally as famous a brand for its menswear and indeed the iconic Tootal Fabrics Company (now its UK office is based in Stockport, just outside of Manchester), it is the Tootal Scarves element that captured the Mod interest in the early Sixties.

Traditionally made in Paisley or Polkadot designs, and in silk and later Rayon, Tootal Scarves are now available in the traditional Sixties styles or in contemporary, updated Indie Style designs.
