The handset and the dial are combined in one single unit, anticipating cordless and mobile telephone technology way ahead of time. The original design was bought to market by Ericsson and was called the 'Ericofon'. Due to it's unique styling and it's influence on modern telephone technology and design, the phone was selected to be part of the of the New York Museum of Modern Art's Collection.
