Indie music and clothing have always been entwined, with music fans adopting the indie clothing styles associated with the genre. The festival scene has led to a particular growth in men's indie clothing. But what is Indie Clothing? 

Indie clothing is not a fashion trend that will come and go, in fact it is anti-fashion. Indie clothing rejects whims of fashion, turning instead to retro influences, much like the music that inspires it. The clothing worn by rock icons such as Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles are hugely relevant to today's indie bands and the styles they wear. Indie clothing is relaxed - think weathered denim, flared or skinny trousers, striped t-shirts, patterned shirts and retro trainers. Tailoring may seem at odds with this style, but indie clothing includes retro suits and blazers, not styled as formal wear but dressed down and accessorised.
