ELLESSE

Founded in Italy in 1959, Ellesse is famous for Retro 70s & 80s sportswear, track tops, polos and T-shirts. A favourite among the Mod Casuals subculture, Ellesse is also a football terrace staple and thier clothing and trainers are a wardrobe essential for anyone looking to stand out on the terraces!

In the past, Ellesse have made their name in professional tennis and skiing, being worn by icons such as Boris Becker, Pat Cash and Guillermo Vilas. The brand was founded in 1959 by Leonardo Servadio, who named the brand after his initials - Elle - Esse.

Starting with Ski wear Servadio sought to create clothing which was stylish and fun, while also functional and practical. At the end of the Sixties, Servadio discovered a performance enhancing fabric which revolutionised the ski wear market.

Throughout the 70s, Ellesse continued to make waves in both the Ski and Tennis fashion markets. In the 1990s, Ellesse spotted a young Anna Kournikova, who went on to win the European Championship and the Italian Open at the age of 14.
