Failsworth Hats (Womens)

FAILSWORTH HATS FOR WOMEN

Failsworth Hats make premium quality hats for women, including Retro & Vintage styles, 60s style caps, 1940s and 1950s cloches. As well as wool and felt, Failsworth hats also make hats and caps in premium materials such as Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon fabrics, and womens waterproof hats and caps.

Failsworth Hats were established in 1903 as 'The New Failsworth Hat Manufacturing Company,' designing and makes hats for both men and women, from their base at the 'Maypole Hat Works' in Failsworth, Manchester in the UK. In 1940 the company changed it's name to 'Failsworth Hats Ltd'.  When the Second World War began, the production of normal headwear was restricted and Failsworth Hats made hats for the military, including leather helmets for the RAF. In the 1950s with the war behind them, Failsworth were able to expand their fashion range of hats again, with premium department stores such as Harrods, Austin Reed and Selfridges all stocking Failsworth Hats. In the post war years, new and exciting fabrics became available again. Sporty felt fur styles were donned by the movie stars and celebritys of their day, including the 'Busby Babes' in Manchester.

In the 1990s Failsworth Hats moved their current location in Crown Street, Failsworth - just a stones throw from their original Claremont Street factory. Today Failsworth Hats continue to develop new styles, employing premium Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon fabrics.
