Classic Retro Fifties/Sixties style Wingtip (Wing) Collar Dress Shirt made by hertiage British Brand, 'Double Two'. 'Tuxedo' styled, a Retro masterclass in formal wear, ideal for those black tie moments and of course for putting that suave and debonair style into any occasion. A fantastic piece of formal mens clothing.
The Wingtip or Wing Collar is making a comeback. A style adapted from the traditional Gladstone collar (after William Galdstone) which flares out and points up, the wing collar which like the Gladstone is still a stiff stand up collar is folded over at the points (resembling wings) to eliminate discomfort.
Founded in 1940 in Wakefield in the North of England, Double Two went from strength to strength developing new styles and shirt fabrics - bringing out the first shirt to be made from blended natural and mad made fibres in 1963, 'White Light'.
This shirt, a progression of the Seventies classic style tuxedo shirt, is made from a 100% cotton, adding strength and durability to the shirt. A true Retro style shirt, ideal for formal wear. Fantastic attention to detail and high quality. A Vintage Silver Screen feel for a true Retro Classic Shirt.
