Pod – A Product Of Desire since 1976, when this innovative and idiosyncratic brand was first founded in London.

Pod pushes notions of what British shoe design should be, establishing a fantastic mix between their 70s heritage and forward-thinking fashion designs. The original Pod shoe was conceived in response to the platform shoe and flares fad that had emerged in the early 1970s. The brand's owners, Bill and Tony, intended to create a flattering, more casual shoe that could be worn with straight-fitting jeans.

The Pod name became a firm favourite of 70s and 80s fashion and has retained a cult following over the years, with new fans joining the ranks all the time. The nostalgic charm and contemporary comfort naturally makes Pod a perfect choice for retro fashion fans.

The Pod series is designed here in England and manufactured in Portugal, at the same plant where the collection was first made in the 1970s. The plant itself was first opened in 1935 and is currently Portugal's oldest shoe manufacturer, so they know a thing or two about producing high-quality footwear.

Pod releases items in very limited quantities, allowing them to eliminate practically all waste and only acquire what is needed. Pod Original is dedicated to making excellent footwear with care.
