Weekend Offender
Born in 2004 in the working-class heart of Merthyr Tydfil, just outside Cardiff, Weekend Offender is a modern British streetwear force with deep roots in terrace style, 80s casual culture and the hedonistic energy of rave and Britpop. Founded by friends Sam Jones and Rhydian Powell, the brand began as a side project making bold graphic tees that captured a simple idea: graft all week, go hard all weekend.
From the start, Weekend Offender drew inspiration from the subcultures that shaped a generation, Terrace Casuals, late-80s raveheads and mid-90s Britpoppers. These influences still run through every collection, from statement jackets and outerwear to polos, shirts and graphic tees designed for the pub, the club and the terraces. Functional, durable and unapologetically defiant, the brand quickly earned its reputation as a modern subcultural favourite.
A major turning point arrived when Liam Gallagher wore the brand’s now-iconic Naz Jacket on stage in 2012, an appearance that sold the jacket out multiple times and firmly cemented Weekend Offender in the British style conversation. Their unmistakable “prison logo,” along with the rebellious Admit Nothing tagline, has since become a badge of honour for fans of authentic, no-nonsense streetwear.
Though the brand has evolved, its ethos remains the same: sharp, functional menswear with attitude. Expect bold colours, graphic statements, unique pocket detailing and practical features, all underscored by a commitment to individuality. Their signature House Check lining and retro sports flavour further anchor the brand in the culture that shaped it.
Today, Weekend Offender continues to resonate with men who value authenticity, style and subcultural heritage, whether they’re inspired by football terraces, 90s music icons or cult British cinema. At Atom Retro, you’ll find jackets, coats, polos, shirts and tees that embody everything the brand stands for: confidence, attitude and the unmistakable spirit of the weekend.
