Buying guide

Which Baracuta jacket should I buy?

For most, the choice comes down to fit and purpose. Start with the classic G9, then compare the open-waist G4 or longer raincoat-inspired styles if you want a different silhouette.

Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket

Choose the G9 for the classic mod Harrington look

The G9 is the original Harrington jacket with ribbed cuffs and waistband. The jacket is practical as well as stylish with water-repellant shell, flap fasten pockets, double zip and dog-ear two-button collar. The red Fraser tartan lining adds a contrasting finishing touch when the collar is worn open. Available in classic and seasonal colours, the G9 is still made in England today as it was in the past.

Choose the G18 for a smart-casual, contemporary look

The G18 is Baracuta's new staple. Rediscovered in the Baracuta archives, the G18 was originally made c.1969-1972. It bridged the gap between the more structured look of its G9 and G4 predecessors, with its softer shirt-style collar and a clean silhouette without ribbed cuffs and hem, combining a tailored look with leisurewear style.

The Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket

The G9 is the jacket that turned Baracuta into a menswear icon. It is short, neat and practical, with a stand-up dog-ear collar, slanted button fasten pockets, ribbed trims and the famous back yoke designed to help rain run away from the body.

It works especially well with denim, chinos, loafers, desert boots, polos, Oxford shirts and fine knitwear. For a Mod-inspired look, keep the lines clean and the colours classic.
