Handcrafted in England by the iconic lava-lamp makers at Mathmos, the Astro Gold Lava Lamp in violet with orange lava brings a rich, luminous twist to the world’s first and most celebrated lava lamp.
Designed in 1963 by Edward Craven Walker, the original inventor of the lava lamp, the Astro remains a defining symbol of 60s and 70s retro style. This gold-anodised edition features a hand-spun aluminium base and cap in a warm matt yellow-gold finish, paired with a precision-made branded glass bottle produced in Yorkshire and filled with Mathmos’ unique, high-clarity lava formula.
Still produced by skilled craftspeople in Poole, each lamp honours decades of British manufacturing heritage and timeless mid-century design. The glowing violet liquid and vivid orange lava create a luxurious, hypnotic display, perfect for retro interiors or modern spaces in need of atmospheric warmth.
