Founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, Hornsea Potteries helped shape the landscape of British ceramic design, becoming known for its playful patterns and pioneering techniques. Although the pottery closed in 2000, Magpie has faithfully revived some of its most cherished works, beginning with the illustrations of John Clappison, allowing the Hornsea legacy to continue.
Crafted in stoneware and individually hand-moulded and glazed, the Piggie Family Mug in Teal is delightfully unique. Clappison’s floral-infused pig characters are carefully reapplied from his original drawings, creating a charming piece of retro art pottery.
