Founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, Hornsea Potteries became one of Britain’s most distinctive ceramic success stories, celebrated for its bold patterns and inventive production techniques. Although the pottery closed in 2000, Magpie has revived some of its most beloved works, beginning with the charming illustrations of John Clappison, ensuring the brand’s legacy lives on.
This Orange Cat Mug is crafted from stoneware, with each piece hand-moulded and glazed for a subtly unique finish. The playful feline motif is faithfully reapplied from Clappison’s original artwork, giving the mug a wonderful retro character.
