BEN SHERMAN x KEITH MOON LIMITED EDITIONS

This September marks 40 years since Keith Moon left us, and to celebrate the life, music and genius of this truly unique individual Ben Sherman have launced a small limited edition collection of Keith Moon inspired shirts, polos and t-shirts.

Keith Moon, most famous for being the drummer for The Who, and secondly most famous for being a mod style icon, was born in northwest London on the 23rd August 1946. He grew up in Wembley, where as a hyperactive child he didn't do brilliantly at school, failing his eleven plus exam and not getting into grammer school. In a school report, Keith's music teacher wrote: "[Keith] has great ability, but must guard against a tendancy to show off." Luckily, Keith didn't pay any attention to that.

He soon fell in love with the drums, took lessons from Screaming Lord Sutch's drummer, Carlo Little and bought his first kit. He joined the Who in the early sixties (although he would claim he'd never been formally invited to join the band and had only been "filling in") and soon became as famous for his antics off stage as well as on stage, earning him the nickname 'Moon The Loon'.

Aside from the music and the stunts, Keith's personal Mod Style is something which endures as part of his legacy. Mod fashion became an integral part of The Who's 'Look' from the mid sixties and something that Keith embraced fully. Target t-shirts, white denim, desert boots and bowling shoes are all mod staples which Keith wore (amongst much more).

Taking inspireation from Keith's 1960s look and style, Ben Sherman have released this timely limited edition collection incorporating button down collar shirts, 60s style script signature pieces, a mod target t-shirt and a Keith Moon photo tee. Strictly limited stock, don't miss the Ben Sherman x Keith Moon collection.
