About Atom Retro:

Indie Apparel offers the biggest range of retro, mod and vintage inspired fashion in the UK through their web based retail channels, Atom Retro and Madcap England and their high street Atom Retro store in Malton, North Yorkshire. Atom Retro was founded in 2004 as an internet clothing retailer. We launched our house brand, Madcap England in 2007 and opened our bricks and mortar store in 2014.

We currently stock mens and womens clothing, shoes and accessories from premium heritage brands such as Baracuta, Gloverall and John Smedley, classic fashion brands including Ben Sherman, Fila Vintage and Lyle & Scott, through to independant and fashion forward brands such as Pretty Green, Luke 1977, Irregular Choice and Emily and Fin. We also carry a small range of retro and vintage inspired homeware such as Mathmos lava lamps, Newgate Clocks and GPO Retro record players

Current Vacancies: 

We are currently looking to fill the following postions: 

 

RETAIL SHOP ASSISTANT

PART TIME, PERMANENT
MALTON, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Indie Apparel ltd T/A Atom Retro is looking for a part time retail assistant to work at our shop in Malton, North Yorkshire. 

The role would involve all aspects of shop floor retail, serving customers, money handling and working with our existing website and warehouse team to ensure the shop is fully stocked, stock is transferred to and from the warehouse as required and stock errors are avoided.

This role would be located at our Malton shop, situated approximately 30 minutes from Scarborough or 30 minutes from York, close to the A64, Malton train station and public transport. The role is part time, hours would be between 10.00am and 4.00pm and Wednesday - Saturday.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist with the day to day running of the shop, including all elements of shop floor retail and keyholder responsibility.

  • To assist customers with queries and purchases.

  • Maintain an understanding of the Atom Retro customer and demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • To ensure the shop is fully stocked, the stock is well presented and the shop is kept tidy and clean.

  • To liase with the warehouse over new stock, stock being transfered to and from the shop and other elements of stock management.

  • Your day to day role will include (but not be limited to): greeting customers, assisting customers, operating the till, maintaining visual standards including folding and steaming stock, dressing mannequins and the shop window, processing stock in and out of the shop and organising the stock room.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • A good understanding of the internet, computers and email.  

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 

  • Experience in a similar role would be preferred but not essential as training will be given. 

 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail to keep track of stock and manage tasks. 

  • Excellent people skills and patience to assist and work with all types of people. 

  • Ability to multitask and be flexible with assigned tasks/responsibilities.

  • Highly motivated and willing to produce top-notch results on every level.

  • An interest in fashion, trends and retail.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

FULL TIME, PERMANENT
SCARBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Indie Apparel ltd T/A Atom Retro is looking for a full time warehouse operative to work at our warehouse in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. 

The role would involve all aspects of processing and dispatching of customer orders, stock checking, stock processing and various other warehouse duties

This role would be located at our Scarborough warehouse, situated on the outskirts of Scarborough, close to the A64, Seamer train station and public transport, with free parking. The role is full time, hours would be between 9.00am and 5.00pm and Monday - Friday.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To process and dispatch customer and wholesale orders and to manage this to ensure all orders are sent accurately and on time.

  • To prepare parcels for collection by the various carriers.

  • To undertake regular stock counts and stock checks in order to maintain an accurate and up to date stock inventory.

  • To thoroughly search for and investigate inventory problems or shortages.

  • To ensure stock is stored properly and in good condition so it is not damaged, dirtied or creased by improper storage.

  • To handle customer enquiries via telephone and take telephone orders.

  • To ensure the warehouse and packing areas are kept clean and tidy and that rubbish is removed on a daily basis.

  • To perform any other reasonable warehouse related task when requested,

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • An excellent level of computer literacy including internet and email.  

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 

  • Experience in a similar role would be preferred but not essential as training will be given.
