Pretty Green and the Spirit of Madchester.
Pretty Green step back in time to the late 80s and early 90s with striking new collections in 2025.
The sounds, fashion, and essence of "Madchester," the movement that revolutionised the early 1990s, are the focus for Pretty Green this season. Their latest collections honour the groundbreaking fashion and music of the time with striking patterns and modern twists on Pretty Green mainstays. Naturally it wouldn’t be “Madchester” without the Stone Roses taking centre stage and the iconic band prove to pivotal in these latest Pretty Green collection.
At the centre of the collection is the ‘Convergence’ print, taking its name from a Jackson Pollock painting and its inspiration from John Squire’s Pollock inspired paint-splatter artwork which graced the groups record sleeves. A cool cotton twill bucket hat, or ‘Reni Hat’ to give it a Madchester translation, seems a particularly appropriate canvas for this striking print.
Timperley Geo Jacquard Track Top.
The ‘Timperley’ geo capsule draws inspiration from John Squire’s tile paintings, whilst the name itself refers to a suburban village in Greater Manchester, and home town of the legendary late night entertainer Frank Sidebottom, with Chris Sievey’s iconic creation immortalised in statue form in the town centre.
Finally we have t-shirts that celebrate the Stone Roses sound with both their legendary Spike Island gig and classic ‘She Bangs the Drums’ single getting the Pretty Green treatment.
For Pretty Green this summer is all about showing off your love of music by dressing in relaxed 90s silhouettes with vintage athletic influences whilst paying tribute to one of the best bands of all time. Check out the full Pretty Green range here.
