When Brian Epstein put four young Scouse lads in to suits and Chelsea Boots, he also put them in to some smart and stylish tailored style shirts - often with the Mod favoured Round Collar (as opposed to the usual pointed collar).
As Chelsea Boots became known as Beatle Boots, so during the days of Beatlemania this style of shirt became known as a Beatle Shirt.
