Founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, Hornsea Potteries is a great British design story that involves some of the giants of British pattern and ceramic design. Inspired by a wide variety of design influences the brand soon became recognised for its idiosyncratic designs and ground breaking techniques. Sadly operations closed in 2000 but thankfully Magpie have begun re-manufacturing some of most iconic designs, and this fruitful collaboration with the vintage pottery brand continues apace with some brand new lines. Made in stoneware and hand glazed and moulded so each piece is unique, this retro Hornsea Teapot will transport you back to the 70s when they knew how to have a morning cuppa in style.
