This fab Copa 'CCCP' shirt skirts round the dawn of the swinging Sixties. The USSR became European Champions in the Summer of 1960 beating Yugoslavia 2-1 in the famous Parc des Princes, Paris. With the likes of Yashin, Ivanov and Ponedielnik in their ranks the CCCP were formidable opponents.
The CCCP (union) was formed in 1922 and dissolved in 1991 with the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) established in its place. The football kits from the 1950s onwards were invariably red for home and white for away and stayed relatively the same throughout.
