Founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, Hornsea Potteries is a great British design story that involves some of the giants of British pattern and ceramic design. Inspired by a wide variety of design influences the brand soon became recognised for its idiosyncratic designs and ground breaking techniques. Sadly operations closed in 2000 but thankfully Magpie have begun re-manufacturing some of most iconic designs, starting with the illustration works of John Clappison, meaning the legacy of Hornsea can continue for future generations. Made in England, the pure cotton Cat & Piranha Tea Towel is based on a Clappison design which was in production in the 60s and 70s. Utililising the original authenticated  colour scheme this is a fantastic addition to any 20th century design fans 21st century kitchen.
